Congratuations to Serpas True Food restaurant in Atlanta, Georgia for just being recognized as one of the top 10 best new restaurants in America by GQ Magazine. It’s a great spot that Scott Serpas has created and we are very pleased and honored that they are serving Luna Nuda Pinot Grigio.
Check out this article at Chow Talking About Alto Adige being the best region in the world for white wine. This may be true and it’s one of the main reasons that Luna Nuda Pinot Grigio is so good. Our winery partner, Castelfeder Winery, located in Alto Adige has a lot to do with this also.
Baraonda Caffe Italiano is a really cool restaurant in mid town Atlanta that is pouring Luna Nuda Pinot Grigio. Great food and great service and a really neat vibe. Makes me feel like I am back in Italia.
The August 31st issue of the Wine Spectator’s cover is called…” Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc and More….refreshing summer whites from Italy and California”. On page 55 is a feature article on Italian whites. They tasted over 700 whites during this past year.
“We found exiting wine and great values” the article started off with. “Many regions—from Friuli in the northeast through Tuscany and Umbria in central Italy to Campania, south of Rome—-contributed interesting and outstanding wines, but Alto Adige, in the extreme north, stood out for it’s concentration of well-priced, quality white wines.”
More comments…” this mountainous area, which borders Austria, grows vines on some of the steepest slopes in Europe. Vines at the limit often make exceptional wines”
And finally…” What makes Alto Adige’s whites so attractive is their combination of pure fruit character and clean mineral notes that reflect the mountainous terrain”
Why all this info? Because this is where Luna Nuda Pinot Grigio comes from….a 4th generation family owned and operated estate in Alto Adige. We knew we had to have a Pinot Grigio from this area that was hand crafted from a great family owned winery. Have a glass of Luna Nuda Pinot Grigio and you will understand what all this Alto Adige hype is about. Oh…and it’s a great value also.
We recently developed this site to share the story of Luna Nuda Wines, and create more ways for those that enjoy Luna Nuda wines to share their story with us. These represent a few of the elite restaurants in Atlana and we are very exited about showcasing our exciting new wine from Northern Italy in such fabulous venues.
Luna Nuda Wines were officially released in Atlanta, GA Feburary 1 2009. Two varietals are available to the general public.
• Luna Nuda Pinot Grigio – A wonderfully aromatic white wine hailing from The Castelfeder Wine Estate in Alto Adige.
• Luna Nuda Chianti – Enjoy this traditional Italian wine produced by one of the oldest Tuscan wineries, Fratelli Nistri.
